What’s On In Oundle In June?
If you are looking for things to do in Oundle in June, you’ll inevitably be drawn to the Jubilee celebrations at the start of the month. There is a lot going on locally to mark the occasion, and we’ll briefly touch on these events.
However, you might be reading this page after the Jubilee celebrations have taken place. You might have been working or away during the events, or it could be that the early month activities has whetted your appetite to have more fun later this month.
So, you can rest assured we will give you plenty of ideas and options to ensure you make the most of Oundle this June.
A lot has been lined up for the Jubilee celebrations
As we said, the timing of the Jubilee celebrations means that by the time you read this, many of the events have passed. If they did, we hope you enjoyed the Sports Day taking place on the 3rd of June, and that everyone was dancing in the streets on the 4th of June at Oundle Market Place.
There was even more music and merriment lined up for the afternoon, with live performances and a tie-in with “The Platinum Party at the Palace” event. A 12m screen will showcase the very best of that event, including acts like Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Duran Duran, Alicia Keys, Hans Zimmer, George Ezra and Sam Ryder.
Once again, the Oundle Farmers Market is set for the second Saturday of the month. So, if you’re looking for the finest local (and beyond) produce, mark Saturday 11th June in your calendar.
How are your photo skills?
Budding photographers in Oundle should be aware of the 30th June deadline for the 2023 Scenes Around Oundle calendar photo calendar. The Friends of Oundle Library are looking for images that capture the mood and feel of the local area, and if you want your snaps to be seen throughout next year, you should get out and about this month.
Stay active during the month
Any mother with a young child looking for a way to stay active and meet like-minded mums will appreciate the Strong Mama and Buggy classes which take place every Friday at 11am at Barnwell Country Park. Knowing you have a space to be active in a safe way with your child, and meet other mums, is a great opportunity for many new and repeat mothers!
Words and music to close out the month
The end of the month is marked in grandeur with the Imaginary Landscapes With Chris Tutton & Anne Denholm event. This is set to be a stunning evening of words and music, taking place in the Oundle School Great Hall.
