In Uncertain Times Work With Traditional Agents

With the housing market re-opened, initial figures indicate there has been significant demand for property moves. Our findings in and around Oundle confirms this, and we are pleased to have welcomed so many of you in the past few weeks.

This enthusiasm for the housing market has been replicated across the country. A few days after the market re-opened, which occurred on 13th May 2020, Rightmove announced the following figures:

The supply of new sales listings increased 111% on a week-on-week basis when the market re-opened

  • From Tuesday 12th May to Wednesday 13th May, the volume of unique enquiries from buyers doubled
  • On Wednesday 13th May, the volume of unique enquiries from buyers was only 10% less than the same date in 2019
  • Unique enquiries in the rental market were at their highest level for a single day since September 2019

The heightened demand and activity after the market re-opened shouldn’t be a surprise. There is a compelling argument that people’s mentality and outlook on life has changed in recent years. A lot of people and households have put their life on hold for three years because of Brexit.

It cannot be a shock to see a large number of people have decided they are unwilling to tread water and are keen to move as soon as they can. It is vital buyers, and vendors engage safely, but we will do everything we can to ensure all viewings and interactions are well-managed and professional.

Oundle is in demand

Whilst it is pleasing to see there is activity and demand in the housing market, we are thrilled to see Oundle recognised as one of the best places to live in Britain by The Sunday Times. Oundle has been known as a hot spot for people moving from the city to enjoy rural life.

We believe Oundle provides a different lifestyle, and with more people set to work from home as we move forward, we believe this is the ideal setting for many professionals and households. If you are keen to see why the Sunday Times and the Guardian have now highlighted Oundle, we are more than happy to point you in the right direction.

There is no denying this is a challenging time, and we believe people want assurance when they move in the property market. There is a lot to be said for choosing an agent who offers a traditional service, and at Aspire Sales and Lettings, we are here to assist you. Also, we are not alone in believing buyers and vendors want assistance from an experienced professional.

If you need to move, call on a traditional agent

Iain McKenzie is the CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals and he spoke about the importance of traditional agents who provide a dependable standard of service.

He said; “With the online sector of the market under immense pressure, now is the time that truly local, dedicated property professionals can shine. As the property market begins to move again and communities re-establish themselves, neighbourhood agents who are a part of their communities will be an intrinsic part of rebuilding the local economy and getting those regions back on their feet.”

At Aspire Sales and Lettings, we take great pride in supporting the local community. Our feedback speaks for itself, and we are always on hand to offer guidance and assistance to anyone looking to buy, sell or let property.

Iain McKenzie, the afore-mentioned CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals, continued by saying; “Now more than ever, consumers will want to work with a local expert who they trust and who can guide them safely through the process of selling and buying a property during these unusual times. Although the property market is open for business, ‘business’ doesn’t look the way it used to, and consumers will need an agent’s help to navigate the new normal.”

When you are looking for specialist support in selling or letting, choose a local agent who listens to their clients carefully and who takes pride in providing the utmost in customer care. We appreciate these are challenging times, but if you have any property market questions, please feel free to contact Aspire Sales and Lettings, and we will do our best to assist you.
